NaBlowMe: I’m out

Nov 13 - Wearing Shoes Again
Nov 13 – Wearing Shoes Again,
originally uploaded by RhiRhi.

I didn’t post ALL weekend. Not at all. In fact, I only left my house twice – once to go to Starbucks and once to the grocery store (and only cause my power was out and I was bored).

Oh well, no fun prizes for me.

But, hey! Look at my shoes!

Off to St. Louis tomorrow!

Day 9: I’m a copycat

Margalit posted her True Confessions today, and you know what? It was a great idea. So, I’m gonna do it too. Call me a copycat.

-I am obsessive-compulsive about recycling. I think it started when I received a book called something along the lines of 101 Things Kids Can to To Save the Earth. But, you know what? My apartments are so not recycling friendly, and the stuff is taking over my apartment.

-Kind of along the lines of the above, I’m obsessive about using things up. I get great joy in using the last of hair gel, or eyeshadow, or whatever. I like to get rid of things, in a way.

-I don’t like having things that belong to other people for very long. So, for instance, I have a tupperware container that belongs to my friend Carrie. I washed it right when I got home, and it’s waiting in my car to give to her again. I honestly wish people felt the same about my stuff, because there are some VERY overdue books out there.

-If I’m super stressed out, I do laundry. Laundry has a definite beginning, middle, and end – making it something I have complete and utter control over. Also, I love the smell of Downy.

-If my cat is sleeping and she looks SUPER cute and cuddly. I must wake her, I cannot help it.

-I am completely uncapable of having only one knitting project going at a time. Right now, I believe I am working on 3 or 4 things.

-I hate leaving and listening to voicemail messages. Seeing the blinking red light on my office phone makes me cringe. Please know (MOM) if you leave me a message longer than 30 or so seconds. I delete it. I think “Call me back, bye” is a sufficient message.

-I really hate paying full price for things. Thus, I am in love with coupons. Really, really in love with them. If you’ve every been to Target with me, you know this, because I probably gave you a coupon for your toothpaste.

So, what are your true confessions? Are you as quirky as I am?

Today’s Shoe

Day 9: Casual Friday!

Totally old Diesel shoes. They are a size 10, which makes me feel dainty.

Day 8: I write letters

Let’s face it, I’m a big complainer. I guess I could say, I really expect the best. For myself, for those around me. Also, from myself, and from those around me. I’m not EVEN going to get into the entitlement complex I’ve been accused of having from certain former boyfriend’s who shall remain nameless. But, I really expect the best from things I purchase, or stores I frequent, etc.

So, today, as I dined on my Lean Cuisine Beef Portobello entree, I was shocked to find that there were only 3 pieces of beef! 3 pieces! There’s usually way more, trust me, this is, afterall, my second favorite ‘flavor’ of Lean Cuisine. So, I tell my coworker that I am annoyed and that I’m going to write Mr. Lean Cuisine a letter.

She responds, “Rhiannon, are you 80?” So, I guess old people write letters? But, young ones don’t? I definitely do.

But, let me tell you, writing letters GETS you things. So, Taco Bell still hasn’t brought back the Country Breakfast Burrito (I ate TWO of these every morning before my senior year of high school) and Yoplait hasn’t brought back the Breakfast Yoplait. But, do you know what happens?

- Origins sends me samples to make up for the rude saleslady who suggested that I go on ProActiv
- Papa Johns sends 3 free pizza coupons to make up for the delivery boy who claimed he knocked on our door and we weren’t home
- Carl’s Jr. sends free burger coupons to make up for the ass-tasting chicken sandwich (I gave these away, I really no longer eat here)
-Alaska Airlines sends mileage vouchers to make up for the lack of food in First Class.

And, trust me, the list goes on. So, is it weird that I do this? Is it petty?

I just think that there are people at these companies that care that I’m (okay maybe not specifically me) are having less than delightful experiences with their products or stores.

Today’s Shoe:

Day 8 - Nine West (again)

Wearing socks was a bad move in these – I’ve almost slipped eleventy million times. Retiring them for the duration of sock season.
