Friday Bullets: White Water Edition

  • In a few hours, we’re packing the car and heading to Central Oregon for a lovely, quiet weekend.
  • A lovely, quiet weekend in which we’ll be riding a raft down Class III rapids on the Deschutes River. We really know how to relax.
  • I rented a really, really darling house which I can tell no one else about because I’m concerned that I’ll try to rent it again and it will not be available. So, a note to those who have already seen the house: please make sure I’m not planning a trip to Bend before you book. Thanks, you’re all great.
  • Anyway, the weekend will be nice and relaxing with no internets and no work and no running into people we know.
  • Also, yummy food and beer.
  • On Wednesday night, I hung out with a big, fantastic group of bloggers including Danny, Angella, Kerri, Brandon, Vahid, Blythe, Amanda, Asha (and I’m forgetting a lot of people, please forgive me…)
  • Of course, we were all gathered because Danny wrote this book, Rage Against the Mishugeluh
  • Is this not the cutest photo ever?
  • I had so much fun that I was out until 10:30, and if you know me very well, you know that this is a good hour and a half past my bedtime.
  • I was just wearing the cutest blouse ever (new, for $11 from the J.Crew outlet) and melty butter dripped off my English muffin and onto it. I need an adult bib. Also, for punishment, I’m making myself wear a white tank top (with a wee ruffle) for the rest of the day.
  • And, with that, I’m off! Just a couple hours of work for the day and then hopefully an adult beverage once we arrive in Bend!
  • So, what are YOU doing this weekend?

Nothing quite as lovely as you, I can tell you that much. I am seeing a movie, seeing family and cleaning. Obviously, I am WILD and need to be CONTROLLED, MY GOD.

I am getting my hair did tomorrow morning, which I ecstatic about because my bangs are like 2 inches too long. And then I’m heading to a bachelorette party. Which takes place at a bunch of bars on a lake, only accessible by boat. So we have this boat taxi thing taking us around to each bar. I hope I don’t fall in.

You already know how jealous I am of your white water rafting and visiting Bend. I definitely plan on copying that trip very soon (of course, I shall check with you before renting that adorable house).

I’m sorry I won’t get to see you while I am in PDX this weekend but I think you’re going to have The Best Time Ever.

          I MISS YOU!!!!

Have fun this weekend, though. We’re going to see The Time Traveler’s Wife for Amanda’s birthday.

          Travel safe!

Did you know the Obamas are going white water rafting this weekend too (in Montana, though, not Bend)? I wonder what Michelle is going to wear.

I think we need to get matching t-shirts with that journal title on them.

And, speaking of adorable tops, I loved the one you were wearing on Wednesday.

Tomorrow morning I am going to a parade, which means I will spend the rest of the weekend marching around the house with my child pretending to be in a marching band.

We spent the July 4 weekend in Bend (my hometown) at a vacation house on Federal that I found on craigslist. Cutest ever. Same?

I can save your shirt!! Go to an auto parts store and purchase GOOP hand cleaner. rub some into the grease stain & let sit overnight. Wash and it will be gone. If the clothing looks faded in that spot wash it again, it is just residue from the hand cleaner.
