Friday Bullets: Very, Very Sick Edition

  • I’m fairly certain that for the past 4 days I’ve been suffering from a little something the world likes to call H1N1.
  • Here’s something that’s REALLY stupid: if you’re an otherwise healthy adult, you’re not supposed to go to the doctor unless you have “complications,” so if you’re an an otherwise healthy adult you can count on suffering through this for four (and counting) days. Your doctors office might pretend that they can help you, but mainly they’ll just make you wait 5 hours for a phone call back and when you finally get sick of waiting and call back, they’ll just tell you, “Lots of fluids!”
  • So, that’s what I’ve been doing.
  • I’ve felt too sick to read your blogs (sorry) and even too sick to look at wedding stuff online.
  • I had planned to go into the office today, but just now I went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and the walk back to my bedroom had rendered me exhausted. Thank goodness for a boss who has already given me permission to work from home. (what a difference a year makes, my boss of last year would have demanded to know what I did to myself to get so sick)
  • Anyway, enough about that, except you need to know that I’ve lost my final 4 pounds and have reached my goal weight which means that my dear boyfriend will be purchasing me whatever pair of jeans I want. What should I get!?!
  • Okay, now to the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS: We’ve set a wedding date and we have a venue.
  • We’ll be getting married August 28, 2010 at The Gerding Theatre at the Armory, which is really the most perfect wedding venue in all of Portland.
  • Now, our next task is getting save the dates out and choosing a caterer!
  • And, with that, I’m going to rest a bit before I begin my work from home day.
  • I’ll be laying around watching Lifetime movies this weekend. Let me live vicariously though you and tell me what you’re doing.

Awww, I hope you feel better, sweets!

I’m hoping to kick the rest of this kidney infection out of my system so I can enjoy a drink (or ten) at my 10-year High School Reunion on Saturday. :P

I’m so sorry you are feeling so crappy! I hope you feel better before the weekend. Congrats on the wedding date and venue – such fun details! I can’t wait to read about them.

I hope you feel better soon! Yucky!

Seven jeans are my favorite, hands down. They do wonders for the butt.

          Squee! Wedding plans! :-)

I really hope you feel better soon. The promise of new jeans should lift your spirits, right?

Sorry you’re not feeling chipper. I’m avoiding getting any flu shot.

Good luck on the jean selection!

My weekend will be spent making meals for my daughter who had her baby early, and going up to the hospital to visit the tiny baby. She is doing really well…all things considered when you’re only 2lb.

I’m lying around watching cartoons with Annalie, because we’re BOTH sick. My mom is sick too, and she went to the doctor because whatever we all have was settling into her lungs, and the doctor didn’t think it was H1N1, though who knows, it could be. Whatever it is, I was supposed to fly home Wednesday but felt so awful that I called and changed our tickets to Saturday. Now I’m wishing I’d changed them to Monday, I feel so crappy. So I FEEL YOUR PAIN. :-)

Congrats on that last four pounds, though! Woohoo! And on finding a wedding venue. Happy jeans hunting!

Boo! for being sick, but new jeans are awesome, and I agree with Kali: Sevens have always been my favorite, ever since I walked into some random mall in Southern California years and years ago and bought a pair for $20 and had no! idea they were Sevens until my fashion-savvy (male) co-worker told me so.

This weekend I’m heading to the farmer’s market and then the pumpkin patch, and I have every intention of watching Hocus Pocus, which is my favorite Halloween movie of all time.

Rest well and feel BETTER. xo

Oh no! H1N1 sounds miserable. Get well soon, and then, onto the important things like deliciously overpriced denim! :)

                    Aw…sorry you’re so sick. BOO.

As for me, well, Matthew took the kids out all morning so I could have the house to myself. And tomorrow, we’re leaving the kids with my brother and driving down to the coast for the David Crowder concert. Woo!

                    Feel better, babe. xoxo

Boo for being so sick!! SSG is having a little dinner party tonight but has spent the morning neither cleaning or cooking. Instead she has been on the couch … but doesn’t have your excuse. So boo to SSG too … and now she really must go to the grocery store.

Sorry you’re still feeling crummy. Boo.

We should reschedule for next Friday! I’m open if you are.

Also, congrats on booking the Armory. Do they have exclusive catering contracts you have to use, or can you use anyone? I’m thinking of booking them for a BHB event this Spring.

Feel free to invite KC and I to your wedding! (wink, wink) I’m pretty sure I’m free that day and it will give me an excuse to (FINALLY) visit Portland. :)

                          1. Tess says:

                            Several things:

                            1) Sorry about the flu. It sucks, and unless you’ve got complications, there’s really nothing any doctor can do for you. I am glad you are on the mend, though!

                            2) LOVE the venue. Suggested it to a friend who was hosting a holiday party recently. Love it. You will have a lovely wedding there.

                            3) Mmmmm, jeans. I love: Hudson, J. Brand and Citizens. Never been much of a Seven fan, for some odd reason. But! I would totally suggest you head to Mario’s 3:10 store in Bridgeport Village for your denim shopping experience. They carry all of the above, and their customer service is awesome. Although it’s Mario’s, the denim won’t cost any more than it would at Nordstrom, etc. And they will alter for free!

                            1. Kristabella says:

My mom was sick since last Wed and she’s pretty convinced she had the H1N1. So I know from her that it knocks you out! Hope you’re feeling better!

My weekend involved playing a lot of games with my niece Skyler.

Aww, hope you’re feeling better. A bunch of people in my office have confirmed cases of H1N1 and I’m scared that I’ll get it and pass it on to Ollie. I love the new blog design!

                                1. Stephanie D says:

OMG! I’m so excited for you! I knew things would work out for you, congratulations on your engagement! :)
