Friday Bullets: Pink Puffy Heart Edition

  • Oh, Friday. You were gone way too long. Don’t do that ever again, okay?
  • This week has been STRESSFUL. But, know what? THREE DAY WEEKEND, that’s what.
  • I just got a Clarisonic Mia. It is pink. I am in love with it. I do, however, have a question. If you have a Clarisonic, did you splash yourself in the eye with soap the first time you used it, because you kept your eyes open so you could see what it was doing? No? Me neither.
  • Today is my wonderful coworker Jamie’s birthday! Go say hi to her at her hilarious blog.
  • Are you wondering what wedding related things we’re tackling this weekend? Sure you are. Cake Tasting Part Deux, meeting with a DJ and meeting with a wedding planner.
  • The wedding planner will hopefully take care of my thrice daily anxiety attacks I’ve had this week. Hopefully.
  • I have several bones to pick with 24 Hour Fitness. 1) For $49.99 a month, I should not have to wait for a treadmill. 2) What is so special about my club that it’s $49.99? Is it because it has Lance Armstrong’s name on it? That’s a silly reason. 3) Why are there so many televisions tuned to FOX News? It makes me angry. Oh, is it because I get a better workout when I’m angry? If so, carry on then. If not, please tune them to Bravo.  4) This is more about the clientele of the gym, but hey, one guy? I’m not at the gym to meet people, so please refrain from saying (and by saying I mean huffing and puffing), “Hey, how’s it going” to me while I walk by your elliptical. P.S. I judge guys that use the elliptical.
  • Apparently this weekend is Valentine’s Day! I know it’s a manufactured holiday, blah blah blah, but it’s one of my favorites because there is PINK stuff everywhere. And, as much as I hate the term ‘pink puffy heart,’ I totally PINK PUFFY HEART Valentine’s Day.
  • We’re not doing anything fancy this year because you know WEDDING, but I think we’ll probably have a delicious dinner out somewhere. And, I’ll drink something bubbly (which I pretty much do every weekend).
  • So, tell me darlings…what are you doing for Valentine’s Day? And, also, do you have a long weekend like I do?

* P.S. I’ve been moping pretty much all day, because there were no comments on this post. Turns out, you have to publish the post before people can comment on it. Enjoy your weekend, friends!

I feel kind of ridiculous commenting about what I’m doing since we chat every day and well, you pretty much know what I’m doing. I am getting my hair done and then going to a babysitting interview!

And then I plan on cleaning my house because it is disgusting.

We have Sprog this weekend so we are probably going to see The Lightning Thief on Sunday and making his teenage life a living hell as parents are want to do.

He is off school Monday so he will spend that day returning the favor, I’m sure.

I got him and the hubs a bunch of crap for V-day and so far my husband has gotten me this shirt: http://www.zazzle.com/recycling_its_not_just_for_jawas_tshirt-235685873168588626

Lady, I am dying to hear the progress of your Clarisonic – I am so tempted to buy one, but just can’t pull the trigger.

As for my weekend, considering I’m looking outside to see quite a bit of snow on the ground (and more falling over the next few hours), tomorrow I will likely hang out and clean and watch chick flicks. For Sunday, I’m planning on making the bf and me dinner – olive oil oven-poached halibut, lemon risotto, caprese salad and a strawberry tiramisu to finish it off. :)

And YES to the wedding planner. There is no need for the stress and especially when it comes to the week/day of – they are a LIFE SAVER.

omg waiting for treadmills (and then having one available get snatched up someone who wasn’t waiting their turn!) makes me super stabby. Also…why does EVERY gym have ESPN on at least TWENTY televisions? I’d rather watch 20 gazillion nuns pray the rosary than watch espn for 40 minutes while i kick my own ass on the treadmill.

Sadly, I have no plans for Valentines and have to work on Monday :( But part of me is pretty excited for a relaxing (regular) weekend at home.

                Have a good weekend!

We are going out for STEAK tonight to get a jump on the holiday weekend. Ruth’s Chris. I’ve never been there, and I’ll admit I’m a little skeptical; I’m not really a chain restaurant kind of girl, but I am curious (and they’re doing a fixed price menu right now so it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg). Then, off to the beach for the long weekend!

I kind of want to spoil the husband this year since he’s been so great to me through all of our crap over the turn of the year, but as we are extremely cash poor it is looking like his big gift will be a full day of playing World of Warcraft without my once saying “hot damn I hate that fucking game.” within earshot of him :) Aren’t I romantic?

Narda’s working, and I’m flying solo with both kids; Malka has ballet at 9:30am, and then we’re skyping with the PDX gang at dad’s house around 2pm PST. You’re welcome to hop on over to LO and say howdy!

I don’t think we have any big plans this weekend, we had our date night Friday. The rest of the weekend is filled with homemade donuts and chocolate cream pies. Yum.

Have a good weekend and enjoy the extra day off work!

Thank you for admitting you like Valentine’s Day. I’m kind of tired of hearing everyone gripe about it. “We don’t need a commercialized holiday! We celebrate our love every day!” Liars! You know they fight all the time.

We went to Philadelphia and took many spa baths together and ate way too much.
