Four Months Out
As it turns out, my wedding is FOUR MONTHS from tomorrow. So, what did I do to commemorate this?
I went ahead and bought a different wedding dress. J.Crew had to go and put a new dress in their spring collection and I became totally smitten. Here’s hoping this dress is actually THE ONE so I can get on to more important things…like shoes. Speaking of shoes, I have permission to buy these beauties. The only problem? I’m 5’11″, my fiance is 5’9″ and they’re 3.5 inch heels. Bill’s fine with it, as long as I have an alternate pair of flats to wear for dancing and such. I just need to decide if I want to tower over him.
My other options are currently, these Kate Spade lovelies or maybe a blue shoe for my something blue (totally stealing that from my girl Crist). Any other ideas for me? I’m willing to spend a bit more as I went way under budget on my dress. Well, once I return wedding dress the first.

I totally almost bought a new dress a few months before the big day too. Way to go for actually doing it! :)
27. April - 7:49 pmI love the idea of fun, colorful shoes. Both pairs you linked to are awesome.

I like the Kate Spade ones better, and KS is just so YOU. But Louboutins are FABULOUS and you only get married once.
I’m not helping…

I am on the hunt for blue shoes right now and they are IMPOSSIBLE to find. J. Crew used to have perfect ones but I can’t seem to find them online anymore and there are no EBay options either. If you find blue shoes please post them!

Don’t you hate that shoes could cost more than the dress? There should be laws against that. I really really like the Kate Spade ones. They are so fun. But blue shoes! I love that idea. I can’t wait to see what you end up doing. I also have a vision in my head of what your hair will look like.
28. April - 5:48 amI love that you bought the dress you really love. Can’t wait to see it!

WHOA. Those shoes. Whoa! Want.
I had the height problem, too–not nearly as bad as you, but still, I scoured online and the stores to finally find two-inch heels that went with my dress (I’m 5’6″, Scott’s 5’9″–all wedding-appropriate shoes seem to be 3.5 or taller!).

Personally, I would not do the pink. I collect shoes and the really expensive ones should be classic. Yes pink shoes are fabulous but a louboutin, prada, fendi,or Manolo should always be classic unless you are just so loaded it doesn’t matter. You could get a hot pink shoes from Bakers that would look fab! I also love Betsey Johnson and no one makes high heels as comfortable as hers- this link kinda puts the fun pattern of the one shoe with the pink of the other- just an idea.

This is a better picture but piperlime.com has a better price.
I have to say I am LOVING the CL heels. Gorgeous! I don’t think being taller than him will be an issue at the ceremony. You’ll look like a supermodel! Plus by time you get to the reception you would want to switch into comfy flats no matter which size heels you choose. IMO!
Plus I’m taller than KC and I still where 4″ heels when we’re out sometimes. It shows your confident and that he is confident. Which is sexy!
I like the something blue for the shoes, but since it was on the Sex and the City movie it’s done a lot now. Still cute though so I feel like if you like it you should do it. I just love funky fun colorful heels on the bride. It always looks so cheerful.
I love this part of weddings!

Um, Wow. Isn’t Jess full of opinions about your shoes! Don’t buy them! You aren’t “loaded” and they aren’t “classic.” THEMS THE RULES RHI!

I also want to add that for no reason at all the two things I know about my wedding outfit are:
1. Tea length dress.
2. Outlandish expensive shoes.
It’s just one of those occasions where you can literally get whatever extravagant thing (depending on your budget) just because you like it. I love that!

Wait, you’re not loaded? But I thought you were a Trustafarian princess.

In defense of copying SATC, I was not originally on the hunt for blue shoes. It just so happened that blue is the color that found me.
Now show me your crass engagement ring, would ya?
3. May - 4:29 amwas not trying to be rude Angela, I am sure Rhi took it with the spirit it was meant. I thought the ones I linked were pretty fabulous. I do stand by some brands being more comfortable than others and I think that is pretty important when you are a lady that loves to celebrate (Rhi!)
3. May - 5:53 pmoh, it make be silly but the “I DO” blue stickers for the bottom of shoes is pretty cute too. Maybe doing a DIY one would make it a little more personal and is always a super fun peek-a-boo in wedding photos.
