2010
Because everyone else is doing it and I hate to be left out…
1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Honestly, I think new year’s resolutions are kind of bull shit. You should always try to better yourself, whether the date on a calendar changes or not.
But, I’m always trying to exercise more, be more patient and procrastinate less.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! A good friend and half my office. (Seriously, 4 babies at my office this year. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. And, I am so thankful for that.
5. What countries did you visit?
Spain! France! Italy! Croatia!
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you didn’t have in 2010?
Hmmm…I have no clue.
7. What dates from 2010 will be etched upon your memory, and why?
August 28 – my wedding day
8. What was your biggest achievement of this year?
I spoke at a Digital Marketing conference, which was pretty big for me professionally.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I’m not proud of how I behaved in a couple situations.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
The usual…kidney stones. And, a yucky allergic reaction to an antibiotic. Hello, swollen tongue!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My husband’s. He is very, very awesome.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Updated: My niece’s mom. Using your child as a pawn is a terrible thing and I hate her for not allowing her little girl to be a part of my wedding day.
14. Where did most your money go?
Wedding, new furniture and landscaping.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My wedding and honeymoon.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
This Year’s Love by David Gray…it was what we had our first dance to at our wedding.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
a) happier
b) the same
c) richer
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Exercising. It’s amazing how LESS stressed out I am when I’m well exercised.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Complaining. Nitpicking.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
We split the time between my dad’s house and my in-laws’ house. Then we came home and had our own little Christmas.
21. Did you fall in love with 2010?
Hmmm. No, but I really, really love my husband. Obviously.
22. What was your favorite TV program?
Uh. Gossip Girl. SORRY. Also, we love Modern Family.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Hmmm…not really? I dislike some of my neighbors.
24. What was the best book you read?
An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin. Great, great book.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I hardly ever listen to new music. But, I did discover Derby through my wonderful wedding videographer. Their song “Hopes” is on my wedding video. (WHO IS SICK OF HEARING ABOUT MY WEDDING?)
26. What did you want and get?
A house, a new car, a new MacBook Pro an iPad.
27. What did you want and not get?
I’ve been waiting on my unicorn here for several years now. I even have a backyard to keep it in now. What gives?
28. What was your favorite film of 2010?
Uh…we don’t really go to the movies. I saw Burlesque with Kerri and Kali. But, to say it was my favorite is a huge stretch. OH! I loved the Fantastic Mr. Fox. Does that count?
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
We went to Hawaii and I turned 32. Is that considered mid-thirties? I hope not.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A shorter commute. Two hours in the car every day is not my idea of a good time.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2010?
Uh. Awesome? I don’t know. I buy a lot of stuff from J.Crew.
32. What kept you sane?
Girlfriends. Both inside and outside of the computer. Also, my husband.
33. What political issue stirred you the most?
Uh, taxes. Paying more than your fair share is NOT FAIR.
34. Who did you miss?
My two best girls moved away this year. I miss them both terribly and need a private jet so I can go visit them on a whim.
35. Who was the best new person you met?
I’m not sure that I met anyone new this year? UPDATED: I drank prosecco with Home Sweet Sarah. I’m totally rude for leaving that out! She’s fabulous. Obviously.
36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.
To pick my battles. This lesson works at home AND at work.
37. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
It’s You I Like by Fred Rodgers (printed on the back of our wedding programs)
It’s you I like,
It’s not the things you wear,
It’s not the way you do your hair–
But it’s you I like.
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you–
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys–
They’re just beside you.
But it’s you I like–
Every part of you,
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new.
I hope that you’ll remember
Even when you’re feeling blue
That it’s you I like,
It’s you yourself,
It’s you, it’s you I like.
Did you do this meme? Post a link so I can read it!
