Friday Afternoon Bullets

  • Two-ish weeks later, and I’m still doing Bar Method. I do not look like Olivia Wilde just yet, but I imagine that it will happen at any moment. Hopefully before my trip to Miami next month as I might need to wear a bathing suit.
  • One terrible thing did happen this morning in class. I’m going to try and push through it, but if it happens again, I’ll need to find a new workout regimen. Are you ready for it? THEY PLAYED A JACK JOHNSON SONG. I nearly fainted (and not just because my thighs were on fire from the silly exercise we were doing).
  • But, I have to say, I’ve never had a workout that I looked forward to doing again. I only wish I had found it sooner.
  • I’ve long thought that it was really strange that some couples share Facebook accounts. I mean, they’re free. But, do you know what is more strange? Couples who share LinkedIn accounts. I really, truly ran across an instance of this.
  • On Monday, Kerri and I went to Backfence PDX. It was hilarious. We did have to leave at half-time, er…intermission as it was 9 o’clock and I’m in my thirties and cannot stay up that late. Anyway, it was at Portland Center Stage, which is where I got married and while we were there, one of my silly dreams came true. A girl came up to me and said, “Did you get married here?” It was the girl who worked in the rentals department when we first booked the venue, but it still made me happy. And, it kept me from telling every single person we ran into, “I GOT MARRIED HERE!”
  • Speaking of, a couple of weeks when we saw “The Imaginary Invalid,” I had the pleasure of sitting next to the director, Chris Coleman and it was all I could do to not tell him about my wedding. At Portland Center Stage.
  • This weekend is very exciting as two of my closest friends are in town. One for just the weekend (Emily) and one FOR GOOD (Kathina). My house will also be semi-transformed into a hotel, which I am excited/nervous about.
  • I do know this: I have the most comfortable guest bed ever. She told me, and also she told me. Hopefully the rest of the accommodations don’t suck.
  • That, my friends, is all. What do you have on tap for the weekend?

In Which I Married The Right Man

I try not to talk too much about Bill in this space because he deserves his privacy and also I tend to feel that people who are constantly blogging about how amazing their marriages are are well…annoying. Among other things.

But, just this once, I’ll give you a peek into how cute this man I married really, really is.

Monday, while I was cooking the colossal fail of this Beef Stew with Beer and Paprika. (Three and a half hours on the stove and it still didn’t reduce to a stew. Also, BLAND)

And, yesterday, after I said that pasta sounded yummy for dinner. (I picked stuffed, sausage and tomato cream sauce)

Friday Bullets

  • As I’m sure you know, the Oregon Ducks did not win the National Championship. This breaks my heart. I shed actual tears after the game. And, I’ll admit that I cringe a little bit when people bring up the game. But, they played well and I’m pretty sure we’ll be unstoppable next year. And, I’m pretty sure that Cam Newton’s gonna have to give that Heisman trophy back one of these days. I’ll just be over here biding my time until then.
  • This past Saturday, I took my first ballet class in about seven years. And, wow. Taking a ballet class at 32 is a lot different than taking one at 25. I’m just not quite as limber anymore. But, the class is good and it’s good to use those muscles again.
  • Related to not being very limber anymore, Kerri and I bought Groupons for Bar Method and took our first classes this week. That crap looks easy, but it is not. And, it’s addicting. We went this morning and I’m counting the minutes until we go again. Basically, we’re both going to be looking like Olivia Wilde pretty damn soon. Or, I’ll just settle for being able to zip up all my jeans.
  • I don’t really know who Olivia Wilde is, but I read on Kerri’s blog that she’s a Bar Method fan. Please read that post of Kerri’s because she is awesome.
  • You know what? I’m glad to have a workout friend again. Sometimes it’s necessary to have someone to hold you accountable and it’s always nice to know, when your abs are burning that your friend is sitting next to you and her abs are burning, too.
  • I have a three day weekend! Do you?
  • Tonight we’re visiting our wedding venue to see The Involuntary Invalid. I’m always impressed by Portland Center Stage’s productions and I’m very excited for this one.
  • OH. And, finally, it’s Delurking Day! So, please delurk and tell me something fabulous that happened this week. For me, it’s the discovery of Bar Method and also the fact that I have new Tory Burch wedges on my feet right this very instant.
