Oh, Hello…

Yikes…it’s been a while! Sorry about that. I’ve been up to…nothing special. Here’s what’s been going on the past few (um, 8 weeks)

  • We had our backyard landscaped and it is loverly. We’re now mostly rid of the horrible yard mistakes that the previous owners made (you can’t just plant anything anywhere, it doesn’t work like that) and now can focus our time on interior mistakes that the previous owners made. Bye bye track lighting! Recent photos of the entire process are here.
  • I went to Seattle to visit with a bunch of lady bloggers and to see the new Nintendo 3DS in action. The trip was amazing. The 3DS is amazing. Seattle (while not my beloved Portland) is awesome. (I reserve the word ‘amazing’ for Portland). I brought my camera and no battery charger, so I have exactly 7 iPhone photos of the entire event. You can see those here.
  • I got my hair cut yesterday. It looks like this. Do you know that I have been seeing my hair stylist, Carl, for 8 years now? I strongly suggest you all find someone like him. It’s like sitting with an old friend each time I get my hair done. An old friend who makes me laugh so hard I shoot water out of my nose. (please excuse the under eye bags when you view the photo, I’ve given up sleeping between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.)
  • Back in March, I bought two of the ottomans featured in this blog post to attempt the same fancy makeover detailed in the blog. Well, those ottomans sat in the back of my car for 3 weeks. And, now they’ve been in my living room for 3 weeks. Tonight, I’ll finally go buy the fabric and batting to make them over. Check back in August for either a recap of how the project went or a recap of my trip to drop them off at Goodwill. (Sidenote: I did let Bill believe for a little bit that they were going in our house as-is. Who says leopoard print can’t work in a 1924 bungalow?)
  • OH! My wedding was featured on Style Unveiled!

And…that’s really it. I am the most boring person alive. I’ll be sure to let you guys know if something exciting happens. I promise.
