Everyday for the past couple weeks I’ve told myself, “Today! Blog post!” Then, I’ve opened up my computer and logged into WordPress and…nothing. I’ve not been feeling quite like myself for a while and I’m just not sure how to talk about that. So, for now I ┬áthink I’ll just update with what we’ve been up to.

Henry had his SECOND haircut which did not go quite as well as the first. He sat in a “big boy” chair at the kiddie salon which I think scared him a bit. Still, he managed to honk the little horn of the car in between sobs.

Bill and I went out on TWO dates in which a sitter that was not related to us watched Henry. Everyone had fun and there were no tears from Mama or Henry. On our second date, we went to the Feast Portland Night Market where I ate this Crawfish Poutine made by the fantastic guys at Boke Bowl. Oh man, it was good. Please put this on your menu, guys.

The next day, I went to Los Angeles to take a peek at the new Wii U. It was my second trip away from Henry and it turns out that it wasn’t any easier to leave him this time. I stayed in a very cool hotel and despite the fact that I had nothing at all to wake me up, I still didn’t sleep through the night. Still, I got to lounge in bed, get room service, watch E! and then leisurely blow dry by hair. It’s the little things.

The Wii U is beyond cool and I’m glad I got to see it in person. The luge game on the Wii Fit U is QUITE the ab workout. And, an ab workout is definitely on my agenda right now as I’m participating in this round of Biggest Blogging Loser in an effort to shed the last bit of my baby weight.

So…I think that’s it. What have you been up to?

Disclaimer: My trip to Los Angeles was paid for by Nintendo, but my thoughts are my own.

I too thought the Wii U was pure awesome. I want Just Dance 4 at my next party and I think everyone else there did too.

Despite his displeasure, Henry is just so cute!

Maybe a mommy play date will set you right… Sometimes venting to other new mommies can help- maybe not to “feel like ourselves” but to feel like our NEW selves. Maybe Margot could lead us in some barre3 or yoga soon ;)
