Affordable (and Adorable!) Kids’ Clothing at Downtown PDX Nordstrom Rack

Nordstrom Rack provided me with a gift card to shop the new Kids’ Section at their Downtown Portland store, but thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I think it’s well documented around here that I LOVE me some Nordstrom. I often shop at Nordstrom Rack for great deals on shoes (they carry a huge selection of size 11s) and denim. A year or so ago, a new Nordstrom Rack opened out in the suburbs and it was there I realized that they carry children’s clothing! (Henry was just a few months old at the time, and I really had no reason to be interested in children’s clothing before he was born.)

We live pretty close to Downtown Portland, so our closest Nordstrom Rack is the downtown store. I’m a huge fan of this store in particular as it’s conveniently located (right next to my husband’s office) and it’s where I once found not one, but two pairs of Tory Burch Revas in my size in a single shopping trip. Fate! But, the one thing that made me sad about this location was the lack of kids’ clothes. So, I was thrilled when I heard that the downtown Nordstrom Rack location was adding a kid’s section.

Henry and I headed over a couple weeks ago with the goal of finding him something to wear for our family photos.  We rode the elevator up to the second floor and when we came around the corner, I was thrilled to see the Kids’ Department. Several racks for both boys and girls and also DIAPER BAGS! (We’re almost out of the diaper bag stage, but I really enjoyed looking at all the pretty Petunia Picklebottom bags.)

I found some seersucker shorts and a white button down for our photos and lots of things for fall and winter in his next size (2T, SOB!) We also picked out the most darling pair of Tiny Toms you’ve ever seen in black, blue and grey flannel. This kid will be very well dressed this fall.

And, then I drooled over this. Mama deserves a treat once in a while, right?

That kate spade bag looks like it could double as a regular bag once the diaper bag days are gone. which is what I would tell myself to justify the purchase and later again to anyone who asks (mostly my husband, my kids don’t care).
