“Try not to be a burden, dear”
Hee. I am watching Pride and Prejudice as I am “packing.”
Also – just packed the games from the hall closet (need to plan a game night!) and all I can hear right now is a buzzer from one of the games going off from inside the box. I AM NOT opening the box up, so the batteries better be low.
I am so sick of the purchasing of the house. Ick, ick, ick, ick, and ick.
Let’s review:
First Closing Date: July 19th.
Second Closing Date: July 26th. According to my calendar, it is July 26th, and I have not found myself signing any papers today, so we must not be closing. Apparently, the sewer work that was supposed to be completed OH TWO WEEKS AGO has not even been started, well, because the “getting of the permits” appears to be delayed somehow.
Let me just say this, the City of Portland does NOT want me to come down there.
Also, we have to be out of this apartment on the 2nd of August – and, after that – HOMELESS!
We have one more trick up our sleeve, keep your fingers crossed.
Until then, I will pack. If you come over and help, I will ply you with vodka. And also, popsickes – HOME MADE!
It appears as though there may be another delay in moving into our house. Do these people not realize that I cannot unpack and repack my spices, yarn, and blank CDs one more time (not all the same box).
Anyway, in other annoying news. I ventured, yes, ventured to Canby today to visit the family. My mother says to me in the car, “God, you’re huge.” Me, “Um, that is not nice.” My mom, “Well…”
Not even 20 minutes later, my Papa says, “Well, you sure are putting on the weight.” What gives, people?
Just for that, I am ordering pizza tonight and making a milkshake for dessert. TAKE THAT!
Well, at least Treasure Hunters is on tonight. I cannot decide who I want to get voted off tonight – but, chances are – unless one of the teams calls me fat, I’ll root for them all.
What have I been up to the past week? Why, thank you for asking!
1. Taking a nap every day between about 12 and 1.
2. Eating everything in sight. And, drinking Kool Aid, lots of Kool Aid.
3. Packing a total of 5 boxes. At this rate, we won’t move until Christmas.
4. Dealing with icky insurance adjustors (did I tell you I got rear ended? by the pizza boy?)
5. Searching the internet for a marketing job that DOES NOT include the selling of knives door to door. PEOPLE! That is not MARKETING!
6. Being sucked into the following: Dog the Bounty Hunter (Sidenote – why are the fugitives always topless?) Project Runway (sidenote: I would totally rock the Coffee Filter Dress) and, just about anything else on television that allows me to avoid packing).
7. And, finally, waiting for my period to arrive, as it’s 3. days. late. OH SHIT.
As you can see, I’ve been very busy.
Eating beef jerky. Watching Dog the Bounty Hunter on A&E. Someone take me to the trailer park.
