Notes on Project Runway

First of all, whatever you do – do not accidentally log on to Bravo’s Website to vote for Angela’s Mother (and also to enter to win an iPod) because you may find out who got kicked off before the end of the episode. And then, you would be very, very sad. And, also, whatever you write about the person below wouldn’t mean as much.

Secondly – I am bored as hell here, and also lonely. So, normally Zane would hear all this – but he’s in Hawaii. So, you get to hear it :)

Vincent – A – I hate him B- Everyone knows that people from Europe are stupid, so good thing he spoke to Uli’s mom like a child.

Laura – “5, 6, or 7 kids. It doesn’t make a difference. I’ll just throw it on the pile with the rest of them.” I am DEFINITELY getting parenting advice from her when Zane and I have a baby.

Robert – I love him because he designs for Barbie – but I’d like him to not speak ever again. His voice induces vomiting. FOR REAL.

Michael – next time I visit Kathina in Atlanta, I am tracking him down, cause I want him to design a coffee filter wardrobe for me. That is all reversible. Because, that way, I only need to unpack half my clothes next time I move. And, I’ll still have twice the outfits. Love that!

Okay, to finish, Jeffrey totally should have got canned. Cause, he’s an ass. And, he made Angela’s mom cry. And, never make someone’s Mama cry. NOT NICE.

And, does anyone else thing that Kayne and Robert MAYBE had a little something going on? Well, I sure hope so, cause I love them both.

Awright, It is clearly my bedtime.

Phooey

Gelsey and I are sick. She keeps sneezing and I keep sneezing AND whining. Also, she has not gotten out of her bed all day. I have been out of my bed, because I have furniture to refinish and crafts to do. Photos to follow, I promise.

Furthermore, Zane is in Hawaii, and so what if he’s working. He’s in HAWAII. But, no worries, he promised that I could come next time.

I really think though, that someone should come stay the night with me. I’m scared – my house is making creepy noises. VERY CREEPY. And, then, after you stay the night with me, you can help me pick out window treatments in the morning. Yay!! It will be SO FUN!

I think I may insist we get a ferocious dog this weekend, but, one that also will cuddle with me. And, let me call it Peaches, or Dolly.

Okay, I am going around to make sure all the doors are locked. And, to call Zane to make sure he’s not at the beach, or having any fun. Cause, we’re SICK over here.

On Being an Auntie…

So exhausted!

My mom and I had the girls yesterday. She picked them up about one and then came to my house. They showed up both dressed in jeans and long sleeved shirts – it was 93 yesterday in Portland. So, we quickly headed to Old Navy and bought cool outfits for them to wear.

Off to the zoo we went. And, sadly, neither one of them had EVER been. I feel badly that I hadn’t taken them before. Alana is four – so I surely would have thought she’d been before.

We had a ball – we saw monkeys, giraffes, elephants, etc. And, we rode the train! After we were all done, I let the girls each pick out a stuffed animal at the Gift Shop. Alana chose a giraffe – no surprise, as that was her favorite animal (Auntie’s too!). And, the little one picked a Warty Pig. Strange little girl.

We discovered later that the girls’ mom hadn’t packed ANY diapers for Angelina (and, p.s. they were spending the night). Also, we learned that she packed flannel, footed sleepers for them to sleep in.

Part of me thinks she did this on purpose because she knows I usually buy them new outfits, socks, underwear (for Alana) when we’re out. But, the other part of me thinks she’s that clueless.

What can I do? I love them, and I take care of them the best I can when I am with them – but is there anything beyond that? I feel like whenever we get them, they need a bath and to be fed. It breaks my heart to know they aren’t being taken care of like they should.

I’m lonely. Zane left for a L-O-N-G business trip today and I am crabby and alone. ALONE. And, it doesn’t help that this trip will take him to both Las Vegas and Hawaii. But, whatever, NOT BITTER.

So, Gelsey and I are left here to hold the fort down. And, incidentally, the cat wants absolutely nothing to do with us since a) we bought this house and b) since we bought the bargain couch of the century ($314 thank you very much). There are far too many places to nap and/or explore to be bothered with those that feed her low calorie kitty kibble. I was a little flattered that she was actually spending time with me – just sitting beside the couch -until I realized that it was only because I hadn’t fed her today. She’s not one to miss a meal.

What I really want to do is post some photos of the house so you can see how it’s coming along, but that would interrupt with my wine drinking – so let’s just save that until tomorrow!!

I still have not found a job – but, I have been trying. I even interviewed for a position where I knew ahead of time I’d only be making about 60% of my former salary. Next week looks good as I am interviewing for a Marketing Programs Manager position at a local high tech company. I kind of enjoy staying home – but I feel bad that I am not contributing to the household. Except for the delicious gourmet dinners I cook on my 6 burner Viking Range – Hee! (aside – the first two meals I cooked on it were Macaroni and Cheese, and Sloppy Joes – and both were delicious).

So, tomorrow, in my lonesomeness, my plan is to attack all my unpacked clothing. I basically have been wearing the same three outfits, rain or shine, since we moved in here. But, before I do that, my mom and I are going to head off to Moo at the Zoo. Of course – I will find some time to see the Giraffes – my neck rivals their’s you know!

I’ll take potpurri for $500, Alex…

Hi!

Where to begin? I’ll just reenact my last week or so for you.

Okay – Thursday, I go to my mother’s house and leave the charger to my iBook. OOPS! I do a Pampered Chef Kitchen Show at her house and am pleasantly surprised as nobody calls me fat or tells me I need Proactiv. Score! (P.S. Would you like to host a kitchen show? You can earn free product! And, you can even do a catalog show!)

Friday – iBook battery dies 2 minutes after I turn it on. CRAP. I have a job interview at 1:30, and I can’t print off directions to the location. Not all is lost. I have a smartphone. Okay, so I start to get ready for this interview, but I also notice that the sewer guys are still here working on our sewer, which equals NO RUNNING WATER. I make do with being unshowered and actually end up looking pretty decent. I arrive to the interview, early, thank you very much. Interviewer says a DIRTY WORD to me. This very very dirty word is TELEMARKETING. And, I throw up in my mouth.

Saturday – Today is the day of Amy’s wedding, YAY! To celebrate, Zane wants to go to Home Depot. I oblige, because I can’t miss anything. We spent a million dollars there, but, in my opinion, we buy NOTHING worthwhile. (Zane: What? We got a ShopVac AND a pressure washer!). Zane spends the rest of the afternoon shop vacuuming and pressure washing god knows what. I start primping (VERY IMPORTANT! There are people I went to High School with at this wedding. Basically, it was practice for our 10 year reunion next summer.)

Okay, so wedding was AWESOME. All I have to say is MASHED POTATO MARTINIS. I am in love.

Sunday – We are very tired as we had Emily and Dustin over to see our New House and stayed up all night shooting the shit. Sunday for me, wasted. But, Zane went to Home Depot again.

Monday – Unpacking. Ick. Zane makes yet another trip to Home Depot. Again, in my opinion, he buys nothing worthwhile. My washer and dryer arrives and I am in deep passionate love. I spend the rest of the day washing my clothes go around and around in the washer.

Tuesday – I have a lovely lunch with Maria and Kelley at P.F. Chang’s. Lo Mein noodles are delicious, by the way. I spend the rest of the day looking for window treatments because I am sure my neighbor lady is sick of seeing me shower. I put out my garbage and recycling for the first time EVER!

And, that is what I’ve been up to!
