Would you even believe that this is my 100th post? It’s really a relief, because this was going to be titled some variation of “Miscellany,” and really, that’s getting old, right?
Anyway, I have so much to share. In no particular order, here they are:
- I have signed up with Team in Training to run a Half Marathon. Can you even believe the craziness? I’ll be running in San Diego in June. I am actually very excited – and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is AWESOME and a very very worthy cause. If you’d like to help me achieve my goal of $3500, you may do so here. I’ll be doing some other fundraisers along the way, including a Pampered Chef fundraiser, but the aforementioned website is just one of the awesome ways that Team in Training supports their athletes. Ahem, that’s right people, I said ATHLETES.
My reason for signing up for this event is somewhat selfish, I must say. Running a full marathon is something I want to do before I am 30, so running a half marathon seems logical now. I also am not happy with the state of my body right now, I am about 25 pounds heavier than I was when I met Zane. I think I’d be okay staying at this weight, but, I would need to tone up.
- I booked tickets to go to Atlanta in March to visit my BESTEST friend Kathina. The tickets were a bargain! I used frequent flier miles to buy them and they only ended up being 44,000 miles for a round trip, first class ticket (actually 45,000 miles, but I got a 1,000 mile bonus for booking online). Who knew that hauling my ass to and fro tradeshows for work would pay off in more ways than one. It’s high time I go visit Kathina to make sure she’s eating more than cookies and potato skins for dinner.
- Can you believe I have been at my job for a month already?
- I have been cooking really delicious things lately. For dinner on Sunday, I made Chicken and Leeks over Cous Cous. It was so yummy and really fairly healthy. Among the not so healthy, creamed brussel sprouts with White Cheddar Tillamook Cheese. If you have never had Tillamook Cheese, please let me know, and I’ll see what I can do for you. Cause, really, you haven’t lived.
- I really could give two shits about the Super Bowl this year, thus, we are going to paint a room instead of watching. And, special points for us if we actually do this. We’ve been super naughty ever since the purchase of the damn Xbox 360. Our newest favorite, Lego Star Wars II.
And, I think that’s it for now folks. Love you, miss you, mean it…
