Why am I dreading this?

I’m sitting here, on the floor at Gate 20 at the San Francisco Airport trying to process one of the best experiences I’ve had in my entire twenty-nine and a half year life. And, yet, I can’t quite explain it.

You guys, I am tired. I’m on the verge of tears. I want to go HOME. My flight was supposed to have left FOUR hours ago. But I’m happy and I’ve made friends that I will, never, ever forget.

But do you know what? I am so freaking scared to write this post. I’m hearing that there are people that are thrilled to hear about the fun we’ve had at BlogHer. But, I’m also hearing people say that each and every person involved with this organization is an alcoholic money waster, and is obsessed with touching each other’s boobs.

Maybe you didn’t want to go to BlogHer. Maybe you couldn’t afford it. Maybe it’s not right for you. Maybe you think you wouldn’t fit in.

But, do you know what? I work my ass off, I make good money and I deserve to spend that money on WHATEVER the hell I want to. And, I tithe 10% of my earnings to my church, and I donate to several charitable organizations. And, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO JUDGE ME. What I do with my money is my business, and my business ONLY.

So, this year? I decided to spend my HARD EARNED money and go and meet the women that I love reading, the women that I trade emails back and forth with. The women that make me laugh, the women that make me cry, and the women that make me THINK.

And, it was freaking fantastic.

So, now I will try and process some more. And, I promise you a real BlogHer post after I get home and have a good night’s sleep, a snuggle with Gelsey, and also maybe a snuggle with the boy. I’ve missed you guys!!

Oh sweetie, just concentrate on the positives. I can’t wait to hear about all those experiences. Did you meet Siz???

missed you! glad you had fun!

I’m so glad you had a great time at BlogHer… Don’t let the haters take away from the positive experience that you were able to participate in… I hope to be able to go myself next year!!

Cannot wait to hear all about it!

I’m glad you had a great time and met people you wanted to meet.

p.s. there did seem to be a lot of boob grabbing.:)

Good for you for going. I can’t wait to hear all about it.

TRUE DAT, Rhiannon. Seriously. The bitterness amazes me sometimes.

I was not aware of all that hate!
But I can’t wait to read how much fun you had and all the great people you met… I’m glad you got a chance to go.

I think that people who put others down for their choices are very jealous and really – you are too good to worry about their problem with jealousy. I’m glad you had fun.

People need to relax. If they don’t like what some people are doing, then well…don’t do it!

I’m glad you had a good time though. I can’t wait to hear more.

Good for you, sweetie. Glad to hear you had such a good time. You’re TOTALLY entitled!

I say fuck those people! They are just jealous!

I think BlogHer is WORTH EVERY DAMN PENNY!

When can we go back?

Wait, seriously, people are saying this? WHO? WHERE? I thought it was all about the love, man.

I don’t make much money, and I chose to “waste” it on this trip. And it was worth it, you’re absolutely right. Next year we must HAVE A DRINK TOGETHER.

I love this post, Rhi.

Holy caboodles batman, we were at the same gate for at least four hours (six for us) how did we not see each other? You are soo fired if you saw me! And also yes! yes! yes. Yes we saved and budgeted so that I could go to blogher this year and I didn’t grope anyone’s boobs or get intoxicated and I had a great time and you will always find your kind at blogher, it’s just like anywhere else where the flashy and the outrageous get more attention than the kindred spirits sitting in the airport with you for four hours…Duuuude. Fired! You.
