Blogging the Recession

Times are tough, you guys! I think we’ve all noticed the ridiculous prices at the grocery store (Damn You, Eggo Waffles! WHY ARE YOU SO SPENDY!?), the pump, and HOLY HELL the 99 cent Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Carl’s Jr. is now $1.29 (I heard). You know what else sucks? I’m having Important Ovary Surgery in just one week, and the time I’m taking off? Unpaid. Owie. So, things shall be tight at the Rhi in Pink household.

So, the lovely Motherhood Uncensored created Blog The Recession. She puts it best, so I’m just going to copy and paste (it’s not plagiarism if you say you’re doing it, RIGHT?!)

The premise is simple. If you read blogs, then for the month of August, make the “pledge” to click through from your feed reader. No obligation to leave a hilarious comment or send a long stalkerish email (although both, within reason, are always lovely). Just click through to the blog (not on ads unless you are so led) and if you’re feeling generous, click around to their older posts.

So, are you in? Because if you are, all you need to do is grab a button and write up a little post. And, then, if you do, you’ll be entered to win some pretty fantastic prizes!! Go, do it!

This is how I read anyway. I HATE reading in readers!

That’s a really cool idea. I hope everything goes okay with your surgery!

I’m bummed that I didn’t get to meet you at BlogHer this year!

Ooh.. I read about this. I’ll have to think about doing it.

I left you an award on my blog.

I’m stupid. Do you mean clicking so people can make a mere penny for page views? If so, I’ll totally do it. I’ve got a baby to pay for.

Every penny counts!

I’m with slynnro. I don’t even USE a reader. Take that! page views.

I’m leaving comments for everyone on Kristen’s list :) It’s the least I can do!

I just joined the Blog the Recession. Such a great idea and fun as well. Another fun perk is finding great new blogs to frequent :)

I prefer clicking on the blog and getting the whole picture. This works for me! Good luck on your surgery, and with the grocery store. Prices stink these days.
